Mitsubishi Motors Launches New Showroom in Petaling Jaya

Kuala Lumpur, 29 September 2020 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, together with authorized dealer Ingress Motors Centre (IMC) celebrated a new Mitsubishi Motors 3S Centre (Sales, Service & Spare parts) opening in Petaling Jaya (PJ), Selangor recently.

The new 3S Centre is located at No. 13, Jalan 225 Section 51A, 46100 Petaling Jaya.

This is IMC’s fourth Mitsubishi Motors showroom in Malaysia with the first three in Puchong, Bangi and Shah Alam respectively.

Including the new showroom in Petaling Jaya, all four of IMC’s showrooms incorporates Mitsubishi Motors’ new corporate brand; represented by its global tagline ‘Drive Your Ambition’. The corporate mark is a powerful statement of Mitsubishi Motors commitment to the values and aspirations of its drivers.

Also speaking at the new showroom launch, Rabian Abdul Rahman, President of Ingress Motors Centre Auto Dealership Division said “I strongly believe that the opening of our new showroom in PJ will pave the way for new Mitsubishi customers. There is an enormous market potential here in view of the huge population and promising growth of not less than 1.25% per annum with at least 60% of mid to high income households.”

With an investment of RM 1.25 million and a built up area of over 34,000 square feet, the 3S Centre houses a comfortable customer lounge with WIFI and sufficient space to display up to four cars. Its service centre also comes with a fully-equipped workshop with 12 service bays ready to serve every Mitsubishi vehicle.

Mitsubishi Motors Migrates to a New Parts Warehouse to Meet After Sales Demands

Kuala Lumpur, 21 September 2020 – MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA (MMM) the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, announced that the company has recently migrated to a new parts warehouse in Shah Alam, Selangor as part of an expansion plan to meet with increasing after sales demands.

With a storage capacity of up to 40,000 square feet, the expansion will see an improvement in warehouse operations including consolidating all holdings under-one-roof. This move will speed up delivery of parts required by all MMM authorized business partners including 52 dealers nationwide.

“The relocation of our warehouse is in line with the continuous growth of Mitsubishi Motors business in Malaysia. The new parts warehouse is located at a strategic location with less road congestion and easy access to Federal and KESAS highway. With this accessibility, we will be able to accelerate our parts delivery to MMM’s business partners as we constantly seek to improve customer’s after-sales experience by reducing cost and increasing our work efficiency,” said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.

Kuala Lumpur, 18 September 2020 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, together with authorized dealer Auto Raya Timur celebrated a new Mitsubishi Motors 3S Centre (Sales, Service & Spare parts) opening in Temerloh, Pahang today.

The 3S Centre is located at Lot 9301 & 9297, Batu Tiga, Jalan Mentakab, 28000 Temerloh, Pahang.

Mitsubishi Motors to Locally Assemble the New Mitsubishi XPANDER

Kuala Lumpur, 8 September 2020 – MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA (MMM) the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, announced that the new Mitsubishi XPANDER will be locally-assembled in Malaysia, following the company’s announcement of launching the seven-seater crossover in Malaysia this year.

“In January 2014, MMM’s first complete knock-down (CKD) model was the ASX Compact SUV assembled in Tan Chong Motors Assembly in Segambut. Then in September 2017, MMM locally-assembled our second model which was the Outlander seven-seater SUV in the same plant. Now another milestone model for MMM, the new Mitsubishi XPANDER has arrived and will be built to excellence in a new production facility in Pekan, Pahang by Malaysians incorporating Japanese automotive technology,” said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.

He added, “The XPANDER is localized to meet the demands of Malaysian customers. It will be priced competitively to cater for families and adventure-seekers who are looking for a more comfortable and practical seven-seater to make their journeys a more pleasant one. The plant in Pekan comes with an all-new body welding workshop including new welding equipment. The plant will also come with an advanced painting technology including a 360 degree ED-coating and robotic spray system, to ensure full coverage of corrosive prevention coating and consistent paint finishing on the XPANDER’s body. Last but not least, the XPANDER will also go through an all-new tester line to check for all safety functions including Active Stability Control (ASC) system before its final assembly line.

Mitsubishi Motors Announces Positive Market Share from January to July 2020 and Tackles the Second Half of the Year with Full Throttle

Kuala Lumpur, 4 August 2020 – MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA (MMM) the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, announced positive sales performance from January to July 2020 with a total of 4,008 units sold. This resulted in the company’s market share growing from 1.4% (January to July 2019) to 1.7% (January to July 2020) of Total Industry Volume (TIV).

The company’s volume seller, Mitsubishi Triton recorded a 22.2% market share from January to July 2020, an increased from the same corresponding period of 2019 which was at 16.9%. The Triton has now ranked up to the number one position in the double-cab pick-up truck segment in three states- Melaka, Penang and Kedah.

“MMM is pleased to see positive sales take off after being under pressure by the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. This is driven largely by the 100% sales tax exemption from the government which applies to both our locally-assembled SUVs the ASX Compact SUV and Outlander seven-seater SUV. The good sales also reveal brand and customer’s loyalty in these very tough times,” said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.

MMM have also recently announced that the company will be launching the new Mitsubishi XPANDER in Malaysia later this year.

“MMM is very excited for a thrilling year ahead with the introduction of the Mitsubishi XPANDER. The seven-seater crossover will provide us with a solid base to maintain strong sales momentum until the end of the year. Following the success of the new XPANDER launch in Indonesia, MITSUBISHI MOTORS CORPORATION (MMC) rolled out the new XPANDER across the ASEAN region.

The new XPANDER follows the iteration of the ‘Dynamic Shield’ front design concept, which is incorporated in every newly launched Mitsubishi car. The ‘Dynamic Shield’ expresses high performance and a sense of protection for the driver and passengers.

The new XPANDER blends functionality with an adventurous SUV-inspired styling. Its ruggedness and roominess, character and convenience, style and functionality are fused and expanded into this crossover, making it a suitable car for every Malaysian lifestyle.

Mitsubishi Motors Signs MoU with NIOSH to Provide Training in Safety and Defensive Driving

Kuala Lumpur, 3 July 2020 –Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Malaysia.

The MoU signed by both parties until June 2021 will see a partnership between both companies to develop Safety and Defensive Driving (SDD) training programs, and to share technical knowledge and skills for product development.

The training programs are designed to identify hazards and take control measures while driving, as well as to acquire proper driving skills and techniques specially designed for MMM corporate customers while engaging with Mitsubishi cars at their workplace. It is also a program recognized by Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.

“NIOSH owned by the Government of Malaysia under the Minister of Human Resources has been the backbone in carrying out trainings with regards to safety and defensive driving for years. Through this partnership, the combination of shared skills, knowledge, expertise and experience between NIOSH and MMM will equip our corporate customers with industry-ready technical skills, as well as reduce the risk of road accidents at their workplace,” said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.

MMM hopes that through this partnership, more health and safety programs will be developed in accordance with the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policy aimed at protecting workers in a safe and conducive work environment.

Mitsubishi Motors Introduces MITSUBISHI CONNECT Mobile Application in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 25 June 2020 –Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, introduces its first-ever MITSUBISHI CONNECT mobile application for Mitsubishi car owners in Malaysia. The mobile app is available for download via Google Play Store and Apple App Store for free.

The MITSUBISHI CONNECT mobile application offers a range of vehicle-related digital services, allowing Mitsubishi owners the convenience of scheduling a service appointment with their preferred MMM service centres, keep track of vehicle maintenance history and get reminders for their next car service in an easy and hassle-free manner. Mitsubishi owners may register one or multiple vehicles under one account.
The mobile application also allows owners to stay in touch with the 24Hrs Mitsubishi Assist customer careline. Owners can access to the 24-Hour breakdown assistance throughout Malaysia as well as emergency services should the situation arises. By tapping on the ‘SOS’ function on the app, user’s location can be tracked accurately using GPS locator and its details will be verified by MMM’s customer service personnel in order to send help immediately.
MITSUBISHI CONNECT can also be used to locate the nearest Mitsubishi authorized dealer showroom and service centres with dealer information and navigation sync with the app to help get customers to the dealer of their choice or convenience.

New Mitsubishi Motors Pricelist for SUVs in View of SST Exemption

Kuala Lumpur, 15 June 2020 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, announced new pricelist for the Mitsubishi ASX Compact SUV and Outlander SUV in Malaysia. The new prices are effective immediately until 31 December 2020

The price reduction is in view of the Malaysian government’s announcement to drop Sales and Service tax (SST) for cars, which sees a 100% sales tax exemption on locally-assembled (CKD) models.
