Mitsubishi Motors Introduces Its First Mobile Service Unit in Kuching, Sarawak

Kuala Lumpur, 26 April 2018 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, introduced today the Mitsubishi Mobile Service Unit to serve Mitsubishi customers living in rural areas off Kuching, Sarawak.

“As part of our After Sales business expansion program, the Mitsubishi mobile service unit is to provide greater convenience and assurance for our customers living in rural areas in Sarawak that are far away from authorized Mitsubishi service centres. The Mitsubishi mobile service unit is capable of servicing up to 10 cars per day and will cover vehicle schedule maintenance, inspection of vehicle wear and tear, and timing belt replacement.”, said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.

The mobile unit comes equipped with special Mitsubishi Multi Use Tester Diagnostic Scanner, hydraulic jack with stand, air compressor and tool sets. The unit will also carry spare parts such as oil filter and lubricants and its own generator for power supply.

The Mitsubishi mobile service unit will be operated by certified Mitsubishi authorized service dealers EON Auto Mart and Jimisar Autotrade in Kuching, and will be traveling as far as 150km radius away from Kuching to towns such as Sematan, Lundu, Bau, Serian and Simunjan.

“This is Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s first mobile service truck and customers shall see more of these mobile units in the near future as we are encouraging our authorized Mitsubishi dealers with fleet and rural customer base to embark on this effort to service our customers better.”, added Shinnishi.

Customers in Sarawak who are interested in obtaining services by the Mitsubishi mobile service unit truck can schedule an appointment with Mitsubishi authorized dealers.

Field Fix Campaign for Mitsubishi Cars

Kuala Lumpur, 22 February 2018 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, has requested for owners of Mitsubishi Lancer and Outlander, imported from Japan and the locally-assembled ASX to replace the engine control relay of their vehicles. Overall affected cars are about 5,000 units.

The relay protects the engine’s ECU from any sudden surge of voltage. If it is not replaced, the internal parts of the relay may fail and subsequently affect the engine’s ECU function.

Separately, MMM will also be conducting a Field Fix Campaign to replace the passenger side airbag inflator for 115 units of Pajero Exceed manufactured from March 2010 – July 2012.

Some of the passenger side airbag may release metal fragments when deployed causing injuries to the driver. This exercise is part of the Takata airbag recall campaign worldwide.

“Safety is our utmost priority thus MMM is taking this initiative to assure customer‚Äôs safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected customers.”, said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.

MMM will issue notification letters to all affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the replacement will be borne by the company.

MMM kindly request all affected customers to make an appointment at any of the Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the replacement of the above.

Kuala Lumpur, 8 February 2018 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, together with authorized dealer Esperance Motors celebrated its first 3S Centre (Sales, Service & Spare parts) opening in Sungai Buloh, Selangor today.

This 3S Centre is located at Lot 26, Jalan LGSB 1/2, Pusat Komersial LGSB, Off Jalan Hospital, 47000 Sungai Buloh, Selangor.

“Esperance Motors has just started its business partnership with Mitsubishi Motors and we welcome them into the Mitsubishi family. With a strong leadership, vigorous energy and passion of the Dealer Principal and Management team in the automotive industry, we are confident that Esperance will become a key driving force to expand the market share for the Mitsubishi brand in Klang Valley.”, said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.

The 3S Centre is expected to be fully operational by middle of this year, and it will be a bigger facility with up to six service bays. Only available in Black Mica, the Triton Athlete is made for “Everyday Athletes” highlighting the Triton’s agility and nimbleness to take on everyday road challenges in Malaysia.

New features Aesthetically, the new Triton Athlete is spotted with new Front Bumper Garnish, new Black Grille with Honeycomb Mesh, new Black 17′ Alloy Wheels, new Sports Bar and Dark Grey & Orange Decal. Other highlights in Black include Side Step, Door Mirror, Door Handle, Rear Bumper and New Tailgate Spoiler.

Engine and Performance

The Triton is powered by the award-winning 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine with Variable Valve Timing technology. Coupled with Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), it produces a strong 181 PS of power and 430 Nm of torque.

All Triton models are imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle from Mitsubishi Motors global production hub in Thailand.

New Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4L Introduced

Kuala Lumpur, 5 January 2018 – Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, officially introduced the new¬ locally-assembled Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4L SUV today. The new Outlander 2.4L will be sold alongside the locally-assembled Outlander 2.0L which was introduced in September last year.

4WD System and Performance

The new Outlander 2.4L is powered by a proven 2.4L engine with 167 PS of power and 222 Nm of torque. The DOHC MIVEC engine is paired with INVECS-III CVT transmission with paddle shifters for even better control.

With many years of winning experience in the gruelling Dakar Rally under its belt, Mitsubishi is a specialist in rugged 4WD vehicles. By improving traction on slippery surfaces and stability, 4WD plays a role in active safety – it is especially valuable on SUVs with tall bodies and a high centre of gravity.

The Outlander comes with an intelligent 4WD system as standard across the range. Unlike on-demand 4WD systems in rival SUVs, the Multi-Select 4WD system in the Outlander has three selectable modes – 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock – to suit all conditions and terrain.

Safety Features

7 SRS Airbags

Safety is the Outlander’s strongest suit, befitting its role as a family vehicle. Together with seven airbags, 4WD, ABS and EBD, Brake Assist, Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts are standard. The SUV also boasts a strong Mitsubishi Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction.

Electronic Parking Brake

In addition, the Electronic Parking Brake available in the 2.4L comes with Auto Hold Assist function that allows one to wait at the traffic light or traffic jams without the need to step on the brakes. All Round Monitor Camera

Other helpful safety features include Rest Reminder, which reminds the driver to take a break when fatigue steps in. The new All Round Monitor in the Outlander 2.4L assists parking and lane-changing by providing a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings including blind spots on the central screen with integrated guide lines for Front, Side & Reverse view.

Driving Video Recorder

Apple CarPlay

A 7-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay functionality allows for seamless connection between iPhone and car. The screen comes with Air Gesture Control for added convenience. Other standard equipment includes automatic headlamps and wipers, and keyless entry with push start button.
