No. 1 Non-National MPV
Kuala Lumpur, 01 January 2024 MITSUBISHI MOTORS MALAYSIA (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, proudly announces that the Mitsubishi XPANDER retains its position as Malaysia’s foremost non-national MPV. The XPANDER sold 11,384 units in Financial Year 2023 (April 2023 – March 2024).
Since the XPANDER’s introduction to Malaysian roads, the MPV has consistently captivated customers with its stylish design, good handling, and superior drivability.
“We are thrilled to witness the XPANDER’s continued dominance in Malaysia. This achievement is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles that resonate with the needs and preferences of Malaysian customers. The No. 1 spot also highlights that the XPANDER is the preferred choice among Malaysian families seeking a versatile MPV,” said Shinya Ikeda, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
Separately, the Mitsubishi Triton sold 8,636 units in FY23 and maintained the top two spot in the pick-up truck segment.
Ikeda added, “Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is the top three non-national brand in Malaysia. Looking ahead to 2024, Mitsubishi Motors is continuously initiating changes for the better and an ownership experience of the highest standards. Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) was formed on 29 January 2005 and is the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia. As one of Malaysia’s leading automotive companies, MMM is currently represented by 61 showrooms (with 8 being 4S) and 61 service centers across Malaysia. In East Malaysia, MMM has 16 showrooms (8 in Sarawak and 8 in Sabah). Additionally, there are 27 authorised Body & Repair (B&P) outlets to meet market demand. By 2025, four new outlets are anticipated, bringing the total to 65 outlets to cater to increasing demand and enhance customer experience.
MMM is committed to selling a range of vehicles that are high in quality, performance, safety, comfort, and technologically advanced. The Triton 4x4 pick-up truck is imported as CBU (Completely Built-Up) units from Thailand and the XPANDER is locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia.
